Struggling Cirque du Soleil returns to Mexico

    • Description
"Joya" is Cirque du Soleil first ever permanent show in Mexico performing in a theater specifically built for Cirque. Show was opened in 2014 together with hotel chain in Mexico.
Show has 30 artists and 280 technicians, it was possible to reopen the show because almost all performers and stuff remained in Mexico during pandemic.
After over 3 month off this is first show to return. "Joya" is already back in Yucatan peninsula - famous tourists destination in Mexico.
Theatre attendance now is limited to 200 seats, due to the Covid-19 outbreak and can take up to 30% of its audience capacity.
This is already second Cirque show to reopen, the first one is "The Land of Fantasy" in China (Hangzhou).
Cirque du Soleil finally accepted an offer of purchase from its creditors, auction will start in August.
Currently the Quintana Roo is still at maximum virus alert in Mexico, but we all hope for the best.
