Slovakia is another European country where circus with animals was banned

    • Description

Since the beginning of September 2020, Slovakia will completely ban the use of animals in the circus, as well as their training for circus shows.

This decision was made by representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Slovakia (MAA). Formally, this is an amendment to the law on the activity of veterinarians, which entered into force on January 1.
Under the law, animals also can not be involved in the shooting of advertising or exhibit as a prize to winners at competitions or exhibitions.
The law affects all types of elephants, feline predators, primates, giraffes, bears and other all kinds of animals.
An exception to the rule is only domestic dogs and cats, as well as ferrets. But this fact does not change the main thing: they cannot be trained, thereby causing pain, using fire or anything that injures animals.

It is also forbidden to “crush” animals - if they are tired, they should have a good rest, not to mention a normal diet and grooming.
The law also states that zoos are not part of the submission - they are not prohibited. Naturally, with proper care of animals.
