  According to Montreal Gazette, "Two conditions are necessary for the Cirque to succeed, Charles Emond says, less debt and a “strategic operator” who knows the industry."

  The Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec will consider making a new investment in Cirque du Soleil even after writing down the value of its US$170-million stake in the Montreal-based entertainment group, its chief executive officer said Friday. The writedown contributed to a negative return of 2.3 per cent for the Caisse in the first half of 2020.
