    • Description

Cirque du Soleil cancels shows in China, due to coronavirus concerns.

All Cirque du Soleil performances of first permanent show in China is cancelled citing the coronavirus outbreak in Chinese Wuhan.

Daniel Lamarre, the chief executive officer of Cirque du Soleil said that it is right thing to do and that: "It's a preventative measure from the Chinese authorities and it's important to collaborate with them."

The Land of Fantasy - Cirque du Soleil show launched last year performed five days per week in Zhejiang province Hangzhou.

Daniel Lamarre said that "Hangzhou is far from the centre of the epidemic, but in the current environment, it is better to be more careful than less."

We can only guess if this situation will go from bad to worse, especially when virus will start to spread worldwide, then Cirque du Soleil will have to close shows worldwide especially if situation will go out of hands.

This is major concern that might and will have long term impact not only for all entertainment industry but also for world economy. But at the moment Cirque du Soleil doing right thing protecting its employees and following govenrment authorities procedures.
