    Circus tigers arrive at Big Cat Rescue in Florida from Guatemala

      Governement of Guatemala banned the use of wild animals in performances (circus) since 2017. 

      Los Angeles animal defenders (ADI) was invited by the government to help with law enforcement. 6 lions and 15 tigers was confiscated from various circuses in Guatemala. ADI reported threats from armed mob. 3 circus tigers will be held in Florida at sanctuary on Monday.

      Temporary rescue center to care for big cats was established by ADI for animals to stay in before they can be transported to their new home. Tigers were confiscated from circus in Guatemala and it was quite difficult for ADI to transport tigers to USA.

      Sanctuary has approved that they will take tigers in August, 2018. Permit with US Fish and Wildlife service was filled in August as well. Only July 2019 it was approved. All this time tigers were held in cages, also export permit apporval from Guatemala took few more month.

      Sanctuary will provide the tigers with their own 4.000 sq. feet of natural enclosure with trees and platforms, dens and a freshwater pool. Also turkey for Thnksgiving and Christmas tree will be at tigers enclosure every year, so this tigers will definitely have more fun at their new home.
