A HUMAN cannonball was seriously injured when he flew over the safety net and crashed to earth at a circus in Chile, footage which emerged today shows.

Crowds gasped in horror as Jaime Almarza Quezada, 40, curled himself into a tight ball moments before hitting the ground.
The seasoned performer fractured his chin and knees after the cannon operator fired him into the air with too much pressure.
He was rushed to hospital after the accident at the American Circus in Maipu, according to local website 24 Horas.
The dad-of-two has been doing the trick without incident for three years, said cannon operator Luis Alvarez.
He added: "Today was a bad casualty... I am responsible for its integrity.
